PRIMARY DUTIES: Under the direction of the Mayor, The Community Development Division Director is responsible for providing the leadership, knowledge and managerial skills necessary to effectively plan, develop, direct and manage the resources, activities and operations of the Community Development Division and Department. Provides management and oversight for all of the Community Development Division budget, services and activities, including implementation of the city’s newly adopted Imagine Nashua comprehensive plan, update of the land use code, processing of land use applications, coordinating code compliance, efficient transportation system operations, oversight of hydroelectric facilities and capital projects implementation. Through community engagement and the development of new programs, projects and processes, leads the city to a higher level of understanding and commitment to the city’s potential. Oversees six departments within the Community Development Division. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned. Position is full-time, Monday through Friday.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in city, urban and regional planning, architecture, urban design and economics, or a closely related field. Master’s degree is a plus. Five to eight relevant job experience. The ideal candidate will be someone seeking a meaningful career who is excited to lead the continued growth and development of a thriving community. The Community Development Division Director must be professional, responsive, innovative, and dedicated to the mission of the city and have a strategic vision for the future.
