The city of Watertown seeks an energetic, motivated, community-minded individual to join the City Manager’s
Office as the Community Engagement Specialist. Under the supervision of the Director of Communications and Community Engagement, the Community Engagement Specialist is responsible for implementing creative engagement strategies that foster participation among residents. This position will develop robust relationships with community stakeholders and develop strategies that will reach constituents who are not regularly engaged with the city.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one to three years’ professional experience;
or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge,
skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Must have excellent oral and written communications skills and a strong proficiency in the Microsoft Suite, Office365, and a graphic design tool (e.g.,
Adobe Creative Suite, Canva). Experience in website editing and social media management are a plus.
SALARY: The FY27 salary range is $69,334 to $91,485 (15 steps). Hiring above Step 1 is dependent on qualifications, experience and education. The city also offers an excellent benefits package.
