The city of Watertown seeks a qualified candidate who will provide clerical support to the City Council. Working under the general direction of the City Council President, this professional will be responsible for a variety of administrative and clerical duties to assist and support the City Council in discharging its functions. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy, to prepare minutes and reports, to work effectively under time constraints to meet deadlines, and to communicate effectively and provide excellent customer service skills. Some evening meetings required.

Required Qualifications: High school diploma (or GED) and at least three years of related experience required. College degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted for requirements. Municipal and/or customer service experience and additional administrative assistant or office management training desirable. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.

Salary Range Begins: $24.79-$27.90 per hour with an excellent benefit package, including paid time off, paid holidays, health insurance and other insurances, pension, deferred compensation plans, flexible spending accounts, employee assistance programs, trainings, and more.
