Under the supervision of the Executive Directors of the Consumers’ Council and the License Commission, the consumer information specialist will be primarily responsible for the Consumer Hotline and assist walk-in consumers to provide consumer rights information, advocacy, mediation and referrals. Knowledge of Massachusetts Consumer laws and regulations, the consumer complaint process, and consumer referral options. Excellent oral and written communication skills, well-organized, able to work independently with various agencies and with the general public. Experience in mediating and/or negotiating agreements and supervising staff a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel required. Ability to operate various office equipment and learn consumer complaint database program. Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. $19.72-$27.03 per hour plus excellent benefits.
