Job Description

The town of Sudbury is currently accepting applications for the position of Department Assistant I in the Treasurer-Collector’s Office. In this role, you will be at the center of the town’s financial operations, providing customer service, bookkeeping and administrative support while working collaboratively with our Finance team.

Job duties include providing customer service regarding tax bills, receiving, processing, and recording tax payments and other municipal receivables, recordkeeping, and assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Treasurer/Collector’s Office.

Typical qualifications for this position include a high school diploma and two years of experience in general accounting or bookkeeping work or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working knowledge of standard bookkeeping principles, procedures, records, and proficiency with standard office procedures and technology; excellent communication and customer service skills; Driver’s license and use of personal vehicle during the work day (mileage reimbursement provided).

Full pay range: $23.98 – $31.53 per hour (35 hours per week). Starting salary based on qualifications; typically in first half of range. The town currently utilizes a predetermined step system for annual pay increases.
