The Worcester Police Department seeks applicants for the position of Deputy Director of Administration to perform essential duties related to finance and administration. Under the direction of the Supervisor of Administration, this position will work in a manner consistent with the mission and values, and in furtherance, of the goals and objectives set forth by the department. The position will assist in planning and coordinating work in the preparation of annual budgets; participate in purchasing decisions; and be responsible for the timely reconciliation and deposit of all department fees and cash receipts.

The qualified applicant will have the knowledge and understanding of laws, policies, regulations, and procedures related to financial management; the ability to analyze and interpret financial data and present findings clearly in an accurate and easily understandable manner; ability to effectively design complex spreadsheets;

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related discipline
  • Three years of managerial accounting experience
  • Previous supervisory experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related discipline
  • Five years of managerial accounting experience
  • Previous experience working in municipal/public setting

STARTING SALARY: $67,414.71 annually, full-time
