The town of Andover is looking for a dynamic professional to join the management team of our $181 million dollar organization that serves over 33,000 residents. Under the direction of the Director of Public Works, the Deputy Director of DPW will direct, supervise and coordinate the Highway Department personnel engaged in the maintenance, construction and repair of town streets, storm water and culverts, mechanical and heavy equipment and snow and ice removal. In the capacity of Deputy Director of DPW, work closely with the Director to oversee, support/coordinate work within the Divisions of Engineering, Water and Sewer, Solid Waste and Parks/Cemetery, Forestry, and Vehicle Maintenance.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, with five or more year’s progressively responsible experience in road construction and maintenance. Candidate should be able to demonstrate an overall familiarity with DPW functions and possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license. Position requires an extensive amount of overtime and is an “on call” position.
