DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

The city of Worcester seeks a Deputy Director to assist with oversight of the Emergency Management division. Responsible for the supervision of assigned employees, assisting with developing and managing the departmental budget, and proactively responding to the needs of emergency response organizations, personnel, citizens and elected officials. Significant public contact and independent decision-making and action are required. This position has on-call responsibilities and may require working outside of regular working hours, extended hours of work, and/or weekend work.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, criminal justice, public safety administration, or related discipline
  • Five years of management experience with an Emergency Management Department
  • Operational experience in a municipal emergency operations center
  • Valid MA Driver’s License 

SALARY RANGE: $74,114.44 – $97,427.83 annually, full-time with an excellent benefits package.
