Our members are the local governments of Massachusetts and their elected and appointed leadership.
The Director, Council on Aging performs professional, administrative and supervisory work in the development and implementation of programs, activities and services designed to meet the social, economic and health needs and enhance the life quality of the elderly; advocates on behalf of older adults with agencies, health care providers and citizen groups. Oversees the efficient operations of the Newburyport Senior/Community Center. Responsibilities include effective management as it relates to job assignments, personnel and volunteers.
Requires a BS in social services, human services, gerontology or a related field plus a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in social service working with the elderly population, of which two years being in a supervisory role; or the combination of education, training and experience. Must possess a valid drivers license; CPR, AED and, First Aid certification and pass a Criminal Offender Record Information check (CORI) and approved status for receiving information.
