The town of North Andover seeks a dynamic leader for the senior management position of Director of Community and Economic Development. Position is responsible for planning, directing and overseeing activities and staff of the Community and Economic Development Division including; Planning, Health, the Stevens Estate, Conservation, Building, and Zoning Board of Appeals. Responsibilities include representing the town in federal, state and regional efforts to promote community and economic development; providing an effective and rational system of land use and building management and controls; implementing the Master Plan addressing needs and promoting growth of the community; overseeing land use, zoning, environmental and long-range physical planning; developing divisional operating plans, budgets and objectives; planning, assigning and delegating work assignments.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred in business management, marketing, urban planning, real estate or related field. Five to seven years of prior experience of staff supervision with strong organizational skills, and the ability to be a strong leader in a collaborative work environment. Position requires superior communications skills and the ability to manage a large number of tasks and projects. Hiring salary range is $94,960 – $104,456, commensurate with experience.
