The County of Norfolk is seeking applications for the position of Director of County Operations. The County of Norfolk consists of 28 eastern Massachusetts communities, mostly located to the south and west of Boston. Programs and services under the jurisdiction of the County include Norfolk County Agricultural High School, Registry of Deeds and Land Court, County Treasurer’s Office, Trial Court facilities management, Wollaston Recreational Facility (including Presidents Golf Course), County Engineering, Retired and Senior Volunteer Programs, County land conservation and open space management, appellate tax jurisdiction, and some statutory jurisdiction over roads. The County Director serves a three-member Board of Commissioners and assists a 28-member Advisory Board that represents the 28 member communities as well as managing a highly talented and committed staff and a budget of $31 million.

The County of Norfolk seeks self-motivated and visionary candidates for the County Director position. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen, project management, personnel administration, municipal procurement, and communications skills. Candidates should be skilled in grant acquisition and grant administration as well as have a track record of building strong relationships both within and outside of the organization. Candidates should be politically astute and have a strong belief in collaboration and a team-oriented organization. The ideal candidate should have significant managerial experience and at least three years of municipal managerial experience. An advanced degree in public administration or other related discipline is preferred. A bachelor’s degree, preferably in public administration or other related discipline, is required. The successful candidate will receive an annual salary of $120K+/- and a compensation package that is competitive with similar organizations, DOQ.  Norfolk County is an EEO.
