The Town of Andover is seeking an innovative, visionary professional to serve as its first leader of Andover DIVERSE, a Division of Andover’s Community Services Department focused on advancing community-driven initiatives and engagement with the goal of building a more inclusive Andover.  Andover’s Commission on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) works to combat the realities of racism and intolerance in Andover by supporting programs, initiatives, education, outreach, policies and institutional change which contribute to an inclusive Andover. The Director of DEI will be tasked with developing and administering those programs, policies and initiatives.

This position is considered the principal advisor on issues of diversity, equitable practices and inclusion throughout the Town of Andover and will ensure for the sustained attention to and completion of the short and long-term goals articulated in the Town’s DEI Strategic Plan.    As an advisor and collaborator on matters related to equity in recruiting, hiring and training, the Director of DEI will support the municipal workforce in establishing policies and practices that advance understanding of DEI issues across the workforce and the community.

Duties require a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Counseling or Human Resources, as well as three to five years’ related working experience, and experience implementing diversity, equity and inclusion programs and educational tools. Salary range $73K-93K, along with comprehensive benefits.
