The city of Lowell is seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Director of Economic Development in the Department of Planning and Development. This position reports to the Assistant City Manager; Director of Planning and Development; Deputy Director, Div. of Planning and Development and prepares and implements overall economic development strategy and agenda for the city in cooperation with other staff; Utilizes contemporary and innovative economic development tools to conduct business retention and recruitment efforts that promote economic diversification and job growth. Minimum requirements: High school diploma or GED equivalent; Bachelors in business, Eeonomics or related area preferred. Experience must include substantial experience with finance, management of publicly-funded programs, some experience at local level and at least three years in management of programs and personnel. Salary range: $112,731.45 (min) to $123,463.70 (max) annually. 35 hours/week.
