The town of Cohasset, an active, waterfront community on the South Shore, is seeking a Director of Elder Affairs. Reporting to the Town Manager, the Director of Elder Affairs will plan, coordinate and implement programs and services designed to help older adults remain active, connected to, and thriving in the Cohasset community, while managing a busy new state-of-the-art senior center as well as supervising support staff. The wide array of programs and services include, but are not limited to, community education, cultural programs, fitness/exercise, healthy living, nutritional programs, in-home services, inter-generational, outreach, as well as recreation and socialization activities.

The ideal candidate will possess at a minimum a bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, sociology, public administration or related fields. A minimum of five years of executive level experience in program administration, preferably in the field of human services or a combination of education and experience are deemed equivalent. A successful candidate will possess exceptional oral and written communication skills including grant writing, public speaking, demonstrated excellent computer skills, preparing and administering budgets and reports, and exhibit flexibility in ever-changing situations. Additionally, a successful candidate must possess high ethical standards, respect the position of public office, and honor confidentiality at all times. A sense of humor is always a plus.

This position is an exempt full time salaried position. The workweek will at times exceed the standard 35-hours per week. Occasional attendance at scheduled board meetings is required. Some responsibilities may occur outside of normal working hours. Salary range is $68,260 – $81,578. Actual salary is commensurate with experience.
