The town of Littleton, Mass., is seeking an experienced municipal finance leader to serve as its next Director of Finance and Budget/Town Accountant. This position reports to the Town Administrator. The functions of the Accountant’s Office include developing financial policies, managing budgetary and financial information, forecasting revenues, processing accounts payable, auditing payroll, and preparing the annual budget and multi-year Capital Plan. The Finance Director is responsible for oversight of fiscal compliance with all local, state, and federal statutes, regulations, and other mandates. Littleton is a beautiful New England community that maintains its small town charm. The town has an AAA rating, FY23 budget of $64 million, and strong finances.

Candidates must have a master’s degree in public administration, accounting, finance or related field; seven to 10 years of responsible experience in accounting or financial management; experience in municipal finance with five years of supervisory experience; or equivalent. Special requirements include: Designation as a Certified Governmental Accountant by the MMAAA; MCPPO Procurement Certificate from the Massachusetts Inspector General’s Office (or must be obtained within a specified timeframe).
