Cohasset Public Schools is seeking an experienced Interim Director of Finance and Operations to join its district leadership team. Reporting to the Superintendent and School Committee, this position oversees the District’s financial management, business operations, human resources administration, facilities, transportation, grants, insurance, payroll, purchasing, and related compliance requirements.
The successful candidate will develop and monitor the annual budget, prepare financial reports and forecasts, maintain internal controls, oversee audits, and ensure compliance with Massachusetts procurement laws and applicable state and federal requirements. The Director will supervise business office, dispatch, custodial, and food service staff and collaborate with administrators and the School Committee on long-range planning and collective bargaining matters.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree and current School Business Administrator certification. A master’s degree is preferred. Applicants should have at least three years of experience as a School Business Administrator or in a similar role, along with knowledge of public procurement, grants management, fund accounting, and municipal or public-school operations. A current MCPPO designation, or progress toward designation, is required.
This is a full-time, full-year interim position with an immediate start. The annual salary range is $150,000 to $160,000, based on experience. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
