The town of Ware seeks person with vision, knowledge, and energy to fill the position of Director of Planning and Community Development. This is a great opportunity to plan and implement. Work includes reviewing development projects prior to permitting and long-term planning; coordinating public hearings to review and deliberate on proposed development; coordinating and drafting modifications to the zoning bylaw; interpreting state and municipal development regulations; providing information and education to developers, residents, and other interested parties relative to planning projects; serving the Planning Board and other town land use and development boards and committees, implementing special initiatives or projects; working with other state and local town boards and officials to coordinate optimal planning and development outcomes; supervising staff; and ensuring for the overall efficiency of department operations. The Director seeks and promotes economic development and guides the town’s Block Grant program.
