The town of Scituate seeks qualified applicants for the position of Director of Public Health. 

Will be responsible for planning, implementing and managing the town of Scituate’s public health efforts, including disease control programs, promotion of sanitary conditions, protection of environment from damage and pollution, and enforcement of public health and environmental laws and regulations as related to food safety, Title 5, swimming pools, recreational camps, beaches, housing, nuisance conditions and private wells. Responsible for emergency preparedness, sheltering and emergency response. Oversees the town’s Social Services Department. Supervises assigned staff and subcontracted inspectors.

Bachelor of science degree in public health, biological sciences, or related field; three to five years of experience in a public health program with at least one year in an administrative capacity involving state environmental or public health code inspections and enforcement, including the sanitary code, subsurface sewage disposal, solid waste disposal, air and water quality, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

This union position is compensated between $76,474 to $90,904 annually, DOE. Complete job description available on town of Scituate website.
