Join Our Team as Director of Public Works – Town of Palmer
The town of Palmer is seeking a qualified, innovative, and community-focused leader to oversee and shape the future of its Department of Public Works. The Director oversees all DPW operations, including highways, parks, sewer, stormwater, solid waste, facilities, and fleet maintenance. The Director of Public Works performs highly responsible administrative, supervisory and technical work in planning, organizing and directing all functions of the Department of Public Works.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum- Eight years of progressively responsible experience in public works or municipal infrastructure management, including at least five years in a supervisory or management role.
- Preferred- bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, Public Administration, or a related field; Project Management Professional certification
- Massachusetts Certified Public Procurement Official certification or ability to obtain.
- Valid Massachusetts state driver’s license
- Successful CORI completion
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience are considered.
