CITY OF WORCESTER

The city of Worcester is seeking qualified applicants for a Director of Veterans Services for the Division of Veterans’ Services within the Health and Human Services department. Under the direction of the Commissioner of Health and Human Services, the Director of Veterans’ Services performs administrative and professional work in planning, organizing, and carrying out programs and benefits from state and federal agencies to meet the economic and medical needs of military veterans and their eligible dependents in accordance with State and Federal laws and regulations. The Director of Veterans’ Services acts as the Graves Officer in accordance with Chapter 115 section 9. This position prepares and verifies monthly benefits, prepares division payroll and bills and payable vouchers, and prepares and administers the statutory benefit. The Director of Veterans’ Services also prepares and administers the annual division operating budget and reconciles expenditures with auditing and treasury departments and Massachusetts Executive Office of Veterans Services (EOVS).

SALARY RANGE: $80,000- $ 117,000 annually, exempt, full-time, with an excellent benefits package
