Job Description

The town of Wrentham is seeking a qualified Laborer or Light Equipment Operator in the Department of Public Works to perform manual and skilled labor in the operation of construction maintenance and repair of the town’s public ways, parks and cemeteries.

The entry level position is called a Laborer. If candidate has required licenses, they would be hired as a Light Equipment Operator. Once required licenses are obtained, laborer would automatically move up to the Light Equipment Operator position/pay scale.

Experience in operating various vehicles and equipment, mowing, weed whacking, tree and brush cutting, road construction, snow plowing and sanding desired.

The ability to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver’s License with all applicable endorsements and a 2B Hoisting License within probationary period is required. The town retains the right to make accommodations to attain licenses when in the town’s best interest to do so. Ability to successfully pass town of Wrentham background check and pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Laborer (no CDL/no 2B hoisting): Full salary range is $24.17 – $31.54 with anticipated hiring range of $24.17-$25.64.

Light Equipment Operator (CDL/2B hoisting): Full salary range is of $26.29-$34.30 with anticipated hiring range of $26.29-$27.89.
