Position Contract: Personnel Plan, Non-Union

FLSA Status: Full-time, Salary, Exempt, Grade 12

Compensation: Pay range $86,904 – $ 117,320. Actual salary dependent upon qualifications.

The Operations Manager coordinates the daily operations of Highway, Transfer Station, and Vehicle Maintenance personnel and resources to ensure the efficient operation of the Department of Public Works. Employee has direct supervision of all subordinate full-time and part-time positions.

Essential Functions:

1. Makes recommendations providing for the construction, repair and maintenance of Town roads.
2. Prepares a variety of records and reports; ensures that records and reports are accurately completed in a timely manner such that they satisfy state and federal requirements and can be effectively utilized by department personnel.
3. Prices materials that come in to Transfer Station.
4. Ensures safety on town roadways.
5. Ensures safety of town roadways during snow and ice events.

Graduate of a four year college with a Bachelor’s degree with seven to ten (7-10) years related work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Special Requirements: Valid Driver’s License. Class B Drivers License and Hoisting Engineers License preferred.

Knowledge of road repair and maintenance; technical terminology, shop and road machinery, a variety of measuring equipment; specialized knowledge, education, and on-the-job training relative to highway operations is required.
