Help Us Build the Next Chapter of Youth Substance Use Prevention in Hudson!
The town of Hudson Health Department is seeking an enthusiastic, collaborative, and motivated public health professional to serve as our Drug-Free Communities Program Coordinator.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Hudson Health Department at the beginning of a newly awarded federal Drug-Free Communities Support Program grant through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The grant will support Hudson’s efforts to strengthen community collaboration and reduce youth substance use.
The Program Coordinator will play a central role in bringing this work to life.
Working closely with the Hudson Health department, Hudson Youth Substance Awareness and Prevention Coalition (Hudson YSAP), youth, schools, parents, community organizations, healthcare providers, law enforcement, local government, and other community partners, the Coordinator will help guide a comprehensive, community-driven approach to youth substance use prevention.
This is more than a traditional grant coordination position. We are looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, bringing people together, turning ideas and data into action, and creating meaningful opportunities for young people and community members to help shape prevention efforts.
About the Initiative
Hudson’s Drug-Free Communities initiative is focused on strengthening the community infrastructure necessary to create lasting reductions in youth substance use.
The federal award has a five-year period of performance from July 2026 through June 2031, providing an opportunity for the successful candidate to help build this initiative from its earliest stages and contribute to a long-term vision for youth prevention in Hudson. Continued federal funding (up to 10 years) is subject to annual programmatic progress and the availability of federal funds.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help shape the direction of a new federally funded initiative, develop innovative prevention strategies, strengthen community partnerships, elevate youth voice, and contribute to lasting systems and environmental changes that support the health and well-being of Hudson’s young people.
