Job Description
Responsible for enhancing the commercial tax base of the town, supporting and maintaining existing businesses, promoting business expansion, attracting new business and exploring opportunities for new business development.
Essential functions (Below is not an exhaustive list):
- Serves as the liaison between the Mayor’s Office and the department of Planning and Community.
- Manages implementation of economic development goals, objectives, policies and priorities established by the Mayor.
- Seeks out, applies, and manages state and federal funding sources to support economic development activities.
- Supervises and coordinates the work of consultants in support of economic development
- Serves as the primary contact for the business community and the Braintree Chamber of Commerce.
- Supports a variety of economic development initiatives and projects by attending meetings and preparing notes and action items, updating and maintaining datasets and records, researching and compiling key information, and soliciting and acting on feedback from Mayor and senior town officials on drafts and interim project materials prior to finalization.
