General Statement of Duties:

Incumbent is responsible for administering the city’s employee’s benefits (including the School Department). Work includes processing and administering employee benefits, compiling information, preparing reports, and performing a variety of responsible administrative in the administration of all municipal benefits programs.

Qualifications:  

Incumbent must possess the following skills and knowledge:

  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Superior customer service and secretarial skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Familiar with HIPPA Laws
  • Working knowledge of COBRA, Medicare, ACA Compliance
  • Knowledge of Mass Health Process
  • Knowledge of HRA (Health
    Reimbursement Acts)
  • Knowledge of Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA’s) and Dependent Care Accounts (DCAs)
  • Skill in word processing and spreadsheet applications, e.g. Microsoft Office, Excel, and payroll. Proficient in use of fax machines, copiers, and scanners.
  • Ability to deal appropriately with city employees, city officials, and retirees.
  • Must be able to keep strict confidentiality.
  • Must be deadline oriented.
  • Must be able to understand complex benefit practices,

Salary:   $1451.69 – $1639.79
