The city of Newburyport is seeking a top notch Executive Assistant to the Mayor to serve as office manager.  Provides complex, diverse and confidential administrative/support services to the Mayor; supports broad city-wide issues and interactions with officials, constituents and other key groups; manages the Mayor’s schedule, phone calls and visitors; and acts as focal point for communication/messaging from the Mayor’s Office.

Requires a bachelor’s degree in public/business administration/political science or a closely related field and a minimum of three years of increasingly responsible administrative/support experience in a public agency; or a combination of education, training and experience.

Full-time, salaried position (Monday through Wednesday 8 a.m.-4 p.m.; Thursday 8 a.m.-8 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. –noon). Occasional events or meetings outside regular work hours is expected. Salary range is $56,680  to $66,680.
