The town of Bridgewater is seeking a qualified professional to fill the full-time position of Executive
Assistant in the Senior Center.
Serving under the supervision of the Elder Affairs Director, this is an opportunity to work for an dynamic
leader that is focused and has a vision for the future of the department. The successful candidate will
demonstrate superior organizational skills, high energy, advanced proficiency in organizational skills and
the ability to thrive in an evolving setting. Daily responsibilities include supporting Elder Affairs Director
with varied aspects of managing the department’s administrative operations. The Executive Assistant
offers exposure to all critical aspects of running the department’s management functions including but
not limited to budget monitoring, social media marketing, website maintenance, scheduling of travel,
preparation of highly confidential materials, ad hoc reports related to finance, business development and
more, preparation of critical meeting agendas and event planning and more. The successful
candidate must possess a clear understanding of the executive’s perspective, sufficient to interpret
policies and present to a diverse audience. This position will interact with the Town Boards /Committees,
Senior Management, Department Heads and community members, as directed. This position will have
considerable participation in department budgeting initiatives, including grant writing. As the Executive
Assistant to the Elder Affairs Director must use initiative to resolve problems on behalf of the executive
or directs issues to appropriate manager and takes responsibility for follow-up.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university is required, and a bachelor’s
degree is preferred and a minimum of five years administrative assistant experience
supporting senior management.

• Must demonstrate expertise in use of computer hardware and software applications including:
in Microsoft Office, Canva, and other database software management programs.

• Proficiency in use of copy and fax machine, multi-line telephone, and organization and
maintenance of paper files and reference materials is required.
• Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality required.
• Moderate physical effort required in performing duties. Frequently moves tables, chairs, and
equipment.
• A reliable car is required, as well as a valid driver’s license and car insurance, as occasional travel
around the community is necessary.
The ideal candidate we seek must be a positive, team player and have exceptional interpersonal skills to
communicate effectively both orally and in writing as well as maintaining complete and accurate records.
Knowledge of and experience in working with older adults age 60 plus is desirable.
This position is a member of the United Steelworkers’ union and has a full benefit package in accordance
with the collective bargaining agreement. The position is thirty-five (35) hours per week and is classified
at Grade 10 in the Classification Schedule with the salary range of: $ 47,003.84– $ 61,673.04.
