See Plymouth, located at 4 North St., Plymouth, is seeking a strategic, and visionary Executive Director to work with an experienced staff that, under the direction of two boards, promotes the tourism destination of the county and town of Plymouth to domestic and international audiences. This person also heads up the Plymouth County Regional Tourism Council, one of 16 councils in the Commonwealth working in conjunction of the MA Office of Travel and Tourism to promote economic development through tourism.
The Executive Director must possess strong grant-writing skills first and foremost. Using leadership talent, the person will display management ability, strong organizational acumen, outstanding judgment, and critical thinking. The Executive Director will lead the work using research and metrics to ensure solid decisions. This person must balance different interests of various constituent groups and individuals. The Executive Director will champion the organizations’ missions and lead the development of strategies on the organizations’ core priority areas, ensuring that the Plymouth County Development Council and Destination Plymouth Boards, their Partners, and Members achieve shared performance outcomes.
Reporting to the PCDC and DP Boards of Directors, the Executive Director will be adept at balancing internal management with external impact and visibility. Outstanding communication abilities, the individual must be able to develop and maintain relationships that ensure financial health and stability. Building partnerships is vital to maximize the organization’s influence and activities to a variety of constituencies and public. The position requires a collaborative and driven leader with a strong knowledge of business and a significant commitment to the growth and development of tourism and collaborative partnerships.
The Executive Director provides the leadership, vision and strategic planning necessary to leverage tourism opportunities in the region, working collaboratively with partners on many levels. The Executive Director should possess a proven track-record as a leader, with deep knowledge from a strategic and operational perspective.
