Who is a member?
Our members are the local governments of Massachusetts and their elected and appointed leadership.
Responsibilities: Oversees departmental operations and performs high level administrative responsibilities; oversees the town’s capital planning and project implementation, environmental compliance and reporting as well as works with Boards and Commissions. Department budget totals $2,250,000 annually. The Department Director is responsible for solid waste & Transfer Station operations; roadway maintenance; snow clearing operations; buildings maintenance and parks facilities. Serves as sextant for Cemetery Trustees. Supervises six full-time, two part-time and seasonal staff.
Candidate requirements: seven years year-round highway, public works or facilities maintenance experience with three years progressively responsible experience. Bachelor’s in civil engineering, business administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Salary range: $85,000-$100,000 with highly competitive benefits package.
