The town of Truro is currently accepting applications for the position of full-time Public Safety Telecommunicator.
PST responsibilities include receiving emergency and non-emergency calls for police, fire, and emergency medical services, dispatching public safety personnel, providing emergency medical dispatch and pre-arrival instructions, and other related duties. Applicants must possess computer and typing skills, as well as good interpersonal skills. Certifications in enhanced 911, CJIS operation, APCO Basic Telecommunicator, EMD-APCO, CPR/First Responder are a recommended, but will train. The salary range for this position is $53,421 – $61,755 depending on qualifications, plus shift differential, incentive pay, and education pay. The position also includes an excellent benefits package and opportunities for overtime.
