The town of Bedford, a AAA-bond-rated community, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Finance Director/Town Accountant. Candidates for this position must possess exceptional public service, administrative and, analytical skills. The position requires frequent contact with the public and town departments. Under the appointment and general direction of the Town Manager, the Finance Director/Town Accountant serves as a member of the senior management team. Responsibilities include maintaining a complete set of accounting records of appropriations, expenditures, receipts, assessments, levies and abatements initiated by town departments, reviewing all bills, drafts, orders and payrolls to ensure accuracy, adherence to appropriate procedures and availability of funds. The Finance Director/Town Accountant serves as the Chief Financial Officer of the town and is responsible for providing administrative direction and management of the Finance Department, including Accounting, Treasury, and Tax Collecting.
The hours for this position are Monday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The salary range for this position is $103,206-$144,488 depending on experience and education. The town of Bedford offers a comprehensive benefits package.
