Finance Director/Town Accountant
The town of Sherborn is seeking an experienced, collaborative and strategic municipal finance leader to serve as its next Finance Director/Town Accountant. Sherborn’s population of 4,500 is served by an annual operating budget of $40 million. The town holds a strong fiscal position and maintains a AAA Bond Rating.
Under the general supervision of the Town Administrator, the position directs and oversees municipal finance management, accounting, and payroll/benefits; supervises the payroll/benefit manager; manages and coordinates annual audits, OPEB reporting; leads budget development activities; provides analysis and recommendations to support policy decisions and fiscal sustainability; completes required state and federal financial reporting; conducts strategic financial analysis including forecasting of revenues, expenditures, and employee benefit costs; works collaboratively with the School Departments, Treasurer/Collector, Director of Assessing, Town Administrator, and other officials to ensure coordinated financial operations; and provides financial reports and analysis to town departments, boards, and committees.
Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field with a minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in accounting or financial management desirable.
Anticipated Hiring Range: $115,000 to $130,000
