The town of Groveland is seeking qualified applicants for the Fire Chief. This full-time, exempt position is responsible for the planning, directing, and coordinating the activities and operations of the town’s fully Call Fire Department to ensure the effective and efficient provision of emergency and non-emergency fire services, including fire suppression, prevention, inspection, and education, and emergency medical services, emergency management and planning, and related programs
Bachelor’s degree in fire science, fire protection engineering, public administration, business administration or a related field; minimum of 10 years progressive experience as a uniformed, member of a fire department with a minimum of five years experience at a supervisory or command rank; experience working in a call department is preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
MA Fire Chief Accreditation, Firefighter 1 & 2 Certification, Incident Command training, valid Class D Motor Vehicle Driver’s License; Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification required.
