The town of Ipswich is seeking candidates for the exempt position of Fire Chief.  The Fire Chief is non-Civil Service and will have a three year contract.  Reporting to the Town Manager, the Fire Chief directs the operations of a Department composed of a Deputy Fire Chief, five Lieutenants, 12 Firefighters, and eight on-call Firefighters, operating from two fire stations with a budget of $2.1 million.  Strong communication, interpersonal, planning, and negotiation skills required.  History of demonstrated leadership and the ability to develop a positive labor management climate.  Extensive knowledge of fire and rescue operation of administration and planning required.

Ten to 15 years of progressively responsible experience in fire operations, and five years of supervisory and management experience.  B.A. required; M.A. desired.  EFOP and CRO desired.  See full job description available www.ipswichma.gov/jobs.
