The Fire Prevention Officer for the Littleton Fire Department is responsible for the enforcement of fire prevention regulations and appropriate response to emergency and non-emergency calls including medical work, responding to fires and hazardous materials incidents, maintenance, planning, training and office functions as required. The Fire Prevention Officer is expected to work Monday through Thursday for 42 hours per week. We operate two ALS ambulances at the Paramedic/Basic level. Over 2,300 emergency calls were responded to in 2023 out of one main station. In addition, the Fire Prevention Office had nearly 2,000 inspections or other code questions/reviews.

The starting salary for this position is $75,902.22-$80,902.22 depending on certification. The current top step for this position is $92,193.08 plus stipends. Rates are based upon FY24 figures (7/1/2023). Excellent benefits including county pension, health, dental, and life insurances. High school diploma, valid driver’s license, and EMT-B (EMT-P preferred) nationally recognized certification with Massachusetts licensure are required. Firefighter 1-2 (MFA recruit preferred). The selected candidate will be required to complete the MFA Fire Prevention Credentialing within one year of hire if they have not already completed it. Must remain a non-smoker.
