Who is a member?
Our members are the local governments of Massachusetts and their elected and appointed leadership.
Responsibilities include: Respond to medical emergencies, fire suppression, fire prevention, and perform station duties.
Minimum Qualifications: Twenty-one years of age, high school graduate or equivalent, valid driver’s license, hold a current Paramedic License issued by Massachusetts Department of Public Health. The selected candidates will be required to successfully pass: a CORI; back-ground check; physical exam including drug testing; PAT; and successfully complete the MA Fire Academy Firefighter training. Candidates and Veterans with previous successful completion of the MA Fire Academy or equivalent and at least two years of experience as a Paramedic in a 911 service will be given preference.
