The city of Cambridge is seeking a Food Services Manager who will report to the Cambridge Senior Center Director. Plan well-balanced, healthy monthly menus to increase participation in the Senior Center Meals Program. Focus on the dietary needs and restrictions of older adults to ensure high-quality, nutritious foods are served. Collaborate with Nutrition department staff at Somerville Cambridge Elder Services. Purchase fresh foods and supplies required for the Meals Program and special events, staying within budget. Check the quantity and quality of received products and ensure safe storage of perishable and shelf-stable items. Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and ensure health and safety standards are met; prepare for inspections and assist inspectors as required. Supervise two to three kitchen staff assisting with food prep and cleanup, ensuring proper documentation and food safety protocols. Provide training, coaching, and support for staff development. Manage approved vendors for supplies, food products, and appliances. Collaborate with Council on Aging staff to plan menus for special and culturally based events. Prepare, cook, and serve meals daily for 85 participants. Support the Race and Equity Initiative and perform other assigned duties. Minimum requirements include associate degree, related experience, supervisory skills, and required safety certifications.
Rate: $68,737-$81,519 annually
