The town Maynard, a metro-west community of almost 12,000 residents, is seeking qualified, experienced, creative and innovative candidates to serve as our new full-time (40 hours) Health Agent.

Under the general supervision of the Assistant Town Administrator / Executive Director of Municipal Services, the Health Agent shall assist with carrying out the regulatory and inspectional services programs and activities of the Public Health Division.

The applicant must be an excellent and confident communicator with a professional yet friendly approach. Attendance at board meetings is required, and the ability to collaborate successfully with stakeholders is critical.

A minimum of two years full-time or equivalent part-time technical or professional experience in public health or environmental investigation and inspection.  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Environmental science, Public Health, or related field.  Working knowledge of state and local regulations, codes, and ordinances that apply to public health required.  MA Board of Registration of Sanitarians or National Environmental Health Assoc. may be substituted for required experience. Registration strongly preferred.  Certified Pool Operator required or must obtain certification within 12 months of hire.  Licensed Soil Evaluator required or must obtain licensure within 12 months hire.  Licensed Lead Determinator required or must obtain licensure within 12 months of hire.  Valid Massachusetts driver’s license required.  Strong skills in organization, communication, and writing, and ability to pass pre-employment CORI/SORI required.
