Topsfield (pop. 6,400) seeks experienced full-time Health Agent (40hr/wk). Hiring range up to $64K (DOQ); Min. three years experience with BA in environmental science, public health or related field; MA municipal experience highly preferred; requires motor vehicle operator’s license, certifications as Food Manager, ServSafe; pool operation and Sanitarian. Serves as Agent of Board of Health with statutory/regulatory authority; serves as town department head appointed by Selectmen and Town Administrator; Directs public health programs/services for protection of public, control of disease, promotion of sanitary living conditions and protection of environment; Performs inspections, issues permits, investigates nuisance complaints, health/sanitary code violations; Serves as Title V Inspector/Public health sanitarian; Investigates complaints of housing, food, nuisance, onsite sewage disposal and public health concerns; Ensures sanitary code compliance/monitoring; Coordinates w/Inspectional Services, Conservation, Town Administrator and Town department heads; Directs public health outreach, environmental safety initiatives, emergency preparedness/disease control; Helps promote citizen information regarding solid waste removal, recycling options and tobacco control.
