Are you a GIS professional looking for a challenging and rewarding position in local government? The town of Wellesley is seeking to hire a full-time (35 hours/week) GIS Administrator. As a member of our IT Department, you’ll join a talented team of individuals that strive to deliver excellent customer service while helping Town leaders to work more efficiently and make informed decisions.

What you’ll do… Under the direction of the GIS Manager, the GIS Administrator is responsible for the design, maintenance, and administration of geographic base map layers and attribute information in the town’s Enterprise GIS including tax parcels, planimetric data, utility features, and more. The incumbent is also responsible for GIS project management, mapping/analysis for town departments, and training/technical support for GIS users.

What you’ll need… Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in geography/GIS or related technical discipline, one year of experience in GIS database development/maintenance in a multi-user environment, and thorough knowledge of ESRI’s ArcGIS platform. The ideal candidate would also possess two years of GIS data editing experience, knowledge of ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Collector, web mapping with ArcGIS Online/Portal for ArcGIS, Microsoft’s SQL Server, ESRI’s JavaScript API, and/or experience with utilities GIS (water, sewer, stormwater, fiber, electric).
