Golf Director

Job Description

The town of Sandwich is seeking a full-time, year-round Golf Director. Position is responsible for a wide range of activities to ensure the smooth operation, management and fiscal performance of a town owned 18-hole golf course (Sandwich Hollows Golf Club).

Reporting to the Director of Operations for Community Services, the specific duties include, but are not limited, to the following:

• Prepares and manages annual department operating budget as an Enterprise Fund under M.G.L. c.44 § 53F1/2 with integrity, purpose, and in accordance with established administrative systems
• Supervise & train full-time professional staff to ensure smooth operation and excellent care of the course
• Responsible for creating a professional, respectful, cooperative, and customer service oriented work environment
• Continues efforts to steadily improve golfing conditions both on the course, at the driving range and in the clubhouse.
• Manages the Pro Shop and ensures sound financial practices are followed in accordance with established procedures

Bachelor’s degree in recreation administration, business administration or a related field, with a minimum of five years’ work experience related to the management of a golf course, and at least three years in a supervisory capacity, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Membership in PGA of America of America preferred but not required. Municipal experience strongly desired.
