Job Description

The town of Wellfleet is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and customer-focused professional to serve as the Administrative Coordinator/Committee Secretary supporting both the Board of Health and the Zoning Board. This is a 40-hour position represented by a collective bargaining agreement.

This is a key municipal position responsible for providing high-level administrative, regulatory, and technical support to two statutory boards. The successful candidate will serve as the official Committee Secretary, maintain public records, coordinate meetings and public hearings, prepare agendas and minutes, assist residents and applicants, and help ensure compliance with Massachusetts General Laws, including the Open Meeting Law and Public Records Law. The ideal candidate will possess: An associate’s degree in business, public administration, office management, or a related field (bachelor’s degree preferred). Three to five years of progressively responsible administrative experience, preferably in municipal government. Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills required, as are strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and modern office technology.
