Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Description

The position involves a variety of highway maintenance and construction duties, including operating heavy equipment and trucks, road and sidewalk maintenance, snow and ice operations, landscaping, tree work, pavement marking, equipment maintenance, and other general Highway Department responsibilities. Qualifications include:

High school diploma or equivalent Two years of highway, construction, or related experience preferred Valid Massachusetts CDL Class B

Massachusetts Hoisting Engineer Licenses 2A, 1C, 4G, 4E

Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively

Ability to perform physical labor and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Hiring date is for February 2027.

Must be available for emergency response, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and winter storms Must pass required drug and alcohol screening
