The city of Portsmouth, NH is seeking an experienced professional to provide strategic and hands-on operational leadership and oversight to all human resources functions for the city and school. Areas of responsibility include recruiting, employee and labor relations, training and development, classification and compensation, labor negotiations, benefits, compliance with employment laws and contracts, developing policies and procedures and effectively managing the overall operation of the department. Master’s degree preferred; and five to seven years of Human Resources experience, including three years in a management position and at least three years of experience working in a union environment and participating in negotiations.
