This position has been reposted! The town of Holliston is seeking applicants for a Human Resources Director/Assistant Town Manager. The Human Resources Director/Assistant Town Manager oversees all aspects of human resources strategy and administration including recruitment, benefits, policies, organizational development, risk management and compensation/classification. As a member of the town’s leadership team, the position also performs professional, administrative, and management work assisting the Town Manager in the daily administration of ongoing town activities.

Serves as Human Resources Director. Administers hiring policies and procedures. Coordinates training and employee development. Advises department heads on the methods to be used when administering personnel procedures, including but not limited to: recruiting, hiring, evaluating, disciplining, and terminating; keeps abreast of federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to personnel practices and labor law; recommends, administers, and monitors personnel policies and practices to ensure contractual and statutory compliance.

Oversees a legally compliant centralized human resource function including centralized personnel file administration system; establishes and maintains personnel files for all town employees, maintaining confidentiality of information consistent with public disclosure requirements.

Assists the Town Manager on a variety of broad-based management issues; assists in the planning, analysis and implementation of Town-wide projects and initiatives that further the goals of the town’s Strategic Plan, including, but not limited to, supporting internal diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

Position requires seven years of related professional experience, including at least five years in a Human Resources position, preferably in a municipal setting. Certification as PHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP desired. Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, human resources or related field preferred. Ability to pass Town of Holliston background process and become CORI certified.

This is a full time, benefit eligible position, 40 hours per week, with a competitive benefits package. The town of Holliston participates in the Middlesex County Retirement System.

The position is M4 on the town’s wage chart, and the hiring salary range is $100,155 – $119,510 annually. The full salary range is $100,155 – $138,864.
