Brookline seeks an experienced Human Resources Generalist/Investigator to provide professional HR support across a full range of functions and to lead workplace investigations. This role performs generalist-level HR duties, including benefits administration, recruitment, onboarding, leave management, employee relations, coordinating hiring processes, conducting exit interviews, and maintaining accurate and confidential HR records.
A key responsibility of this role is conducting timely, objective investigations into allegations of misconduct, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and other workplace concerns. The successful candidate will lead intake and fact-finding interviews, prepare comprehensive investigative reports, and advise supervisors and employees on HR policies and employment laws.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, public or business administration, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Three to five years of progressively responsible HR experience is required, including at least two years conducting workplace investigations. Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and investigative procedures is required. Municipal or public sector experience is preferred.
