The town of Andover is seeking a Human Services Navigator to help residents access services and resources that support health, stability, and well-being. The position assesses individual and family needs, provides short-term service navigation and care coordination, makes referrals, follows up with residents, and maintains confidential records. Areas of support may include housing, food security, transportation, financial hardship, behavioral health, substance use, youth and family services, aging, and disability. The Navigator also provides trauma-informed crisis triage and connects residents with emergency and crisis resources.
The position develops partnerships with nonprofits, healthcare providers, schools, faith-based organizations, municipal departments, and regional agencies; identifies service gaps; conducts community outreach; and represents the town at community events and meetings. The role also collects and analyzes service data, supports program planning and reporting, and assists with emergency preparedness and response activities involving vulnerable populations.
A bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, public health, psychology, sociology, gerontology, or a related field is preferred. An associate’s degree with significant experience may be considered. One to three years of related experience is preferred. Strong communication, organization, judgment, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills are essential. Multilingual proficiency is desirable.
Salary: $65,716.21 – $78,117.19 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
