The town of Wellesley is seeking qualified applicants for the position of on-call Inspector of Wires to cover vacations, sick time, etc. Position is the enforcing authority as delineated in MGL Ch. 141, 143 and 166, and 527 CMR 12.00 (Mass Electric Code). Ensures that only licensed electricians file for permits and that work is inspected for code compliance. Maintains all information pertaining to permits issued and submits required reports. Minimum requirements: valid MA Masters electrician’s license; working knowledge of state electrical codes and related laws; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; valid driver’s license; and high school diploma or equivalent and three years of professional experience. The hourly rate of pay is $26.92 and the position is not benefit-eligible. The successful candidate must be available on short notice in the event of illness. Coverage for vacations will be scheduled in advance.
