The town of Falmouth, population 30,000 (100,000 during tourist season), is currently accepting applications for an IT Technician to support the towns public safety functions including Police, Fire and the Communications Dept. (central dispatch). This is an exciting opportunity to join a department that is transforming how it offers a full array of technical services across all town municipal systems and networks (16 buildings), with over 400 PCs. Position is responsible for a variety of IT customer support services essential to the effective performance of town-wide public safety. Duties include configuration, installation, trouble shooting, repair, operation and support of information technology infrastructure and systems for public safety. Plans and delivers technical support service including troubleshooting, moves, adds and changes, systems knowledge assistance and/or training; installs and configures software applications; troubleshoots hardware and software applications; responds to emergency assistance requests after hours as required and all other duties as assigned. Associates degree in computer science or related field; three years related experience. A+ certification and MCSA or MCSE certification preferred; Valid Class D drivers license. Final candidates will be subject to a CORI background check. Knowledge of a variety of commercial off the shelf applications such as Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Record Management Systems, automatic vehicle location and GIS as they pertain to public safety applications a plus. This is a full time benefit eligible position and the starting rate is $29.82 – $31.65/hr.
