Job Description

The city of Woburn seeks interested, qualified candidates to support the Woburn Police Department as a Jail Diversion Program Coordinator.

The Jail Diversion Program Coordinator (JDP) is embedded within the Woburn Police Department and co-responds with officers to calls in the community for people who are experiencing mental health or substance use issues. The JDP must be available to assist officers with calls for individuals exhibiting signs of mental distress, to provide assessments in the community or at the police station and deliver rapid access to community services. The JDP will also provide follow-up services, as well as family support to families of individuals struggling with mental health or substance use challenges.

This position requires the individual to exhibit flexibility and independence of work performance and demonstrate good relational skills and judgment; organizational skills and patience in the face of a changing work environment and varied work responsibilities; and self-awareness and ability to process issues that arise from the stressful nature of the work.

Annual Salary: $70,000.00 funded grant position for three years with continuous renewal opportunities. This position is eligible for educational incentives
